Leading Midlands cloud computing provider, Netmetix, are highlighting the importance of having business agility in order to survive a highly competitive market, following recent reports that the UK economy is likely to get worse this year.

According to a recent global survey of 3,645 IT decision makers, mobility appeared to be the top reason for adopting cloud computing as 33% of the companies said they primarily adopted cloud to access information from any device. This is supported by a poll conducted by Netmetix themselves who also found that having access to business IT 24/7 and from anywhere in the world was the key benefit to drive people to adopt a cloud platform.

With the majority of British business leaders predicting the UK economy to get worse, it is a crucial time for businesses to stay ahead of the game by ensuring their IT systems are not only safe and secure, but more importantly make a significant contribution to business efficiencies.

Cloud computing provides many benefits which increase the potential for businesses to grow. Better communications across departments and multi-sites, greater operational efficiencies, and more effective ways of working are all benefits that improve business performance. When coupled with cost savings, scalability and energy reduction, cloud computing becomes an attractive option for many SMEs, with professional services companies already taking a keen interest in cloud technology.
